Forex Trading

Why is forex trading all the rage now? I still haven't grasp the concept of the whole thing. Over the weekend, I spoke to a few friends about it. It seems unpredictable and the speads are huge between currencies.
I had all these questions about pips and how it was calculated. It was interesting to me how people can make money that way as well. I guess I'll stick with what I know so far which is stocks.

Trading History 12/10 - 1214

This week of trading has been really good for me. Monday was very slow with everyone waiting for the Feds decision. Even Tuesday was slow until the release at 2:15. After that the whole place was shorting everything under the sun. The gap open couldn't sustain (predictable) on Wedsnesday. After the DOW almost hit the closing of Tuesday (12:55), I was done trading for the day. Profits are profits. Bought lunch for a few traders and called it a day around 2. Thursday I was trading CAT for the in's and out's for a few dollars....nothing major. Friday was the day. I really didn't feel like trading cuz of the snowy Thursday in NY and got to the office around 9:30. Held some long positions until I saw the COMPQ fill the gap and I knew it was gonna turn. IBM was a lagger on the DOW so it was behind so I held a few shares until almost 12. Called it a day and just surfed the web. Boy was I disappointed to see the market drop even more in the afternoon. Could've made more but I stuck to my rules.
Overall, its been a perfect week with awesome trades. I'm mostly short than long on stock these days. Nextleveltrading has been kind to me for their buying power so things have been looking pretty good the past two years. Haven't decided what I wanna do over the weekend. I heard the weather is going to be really bad so I might just stay in with the wife. AH!

Online Equities Stock Trading

I'm new at this blogging thing but I've been wanting to archive my trading analysis and accomplishment for a long time. Next Level Trading Capital, the firm I'm currently trading out of made me the senior equities trader here so I should post some things up here for those who are with the firm or for people wanting to join.
About myself,
I live in New York City and currently day trading U.S. equities such as MSFT, WMT, RIMM, PG, HD, XOM, NYX, BRCM, NVDA, CAT, EBAY, MER, C, VZ, IBM, COST, AMZN, BSC.
I'm paying .45/100 shares traded with $150,000 buying power.
Past 3 days the market has been really predictable and I've been doing really well.
